With increasing demand, there has been a growing interest in alternatives to the rare earth magnets being used today.

The world’s first high strength, rare earth free
permanent magnet.

Niron’s manufacturing process combines breakthroughs in nanomaterial engineering with well understood, mature metallurgical methods to deliver high performance magnets at a more stable cost of alternatives.

Building off more than a decade of research and development, Niron’s manufacturing techniques precisely control and manipulate the crystal structure of Iron Nitride to obtain high strength magnets.

For high performance applications, magnets made of rare earth materials are the most widely used today (such as NdFeB magnets). However, the mining, extraction, and manufacturing processes are labor intensive, expensive, and toxic. Due to persistent supply chain and geopolitical issues, the prices of these materials have been historically unstable and have surged over the last few years.


Niron’s rare-earth-free permanent magnets possess inherently higher magnetization and are produced from domestic materials. Using a patented, scalable process, Niron is commercializing high powered magnets using abundantly available iron and nitrogen.


Our manufacturing process combines breakthroughs in nanomaterials with well understood, mature metallurgical methods to deliver high performance magnets at a more stable cost.
